Student Achievement Goals

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) identifies student achievement goals with target performance levels, using multiple measures to document student success and evaluate published goals and outcomes.  NLTCC has four student achievement goals.

Mission

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College is a public institution of higher education that provides high-quality academic, workforce training, and transfer opportunities through the delivery of associate degrees, technical diplomas, and certificates that inspire students to enter today's competitive global workforce.

1. Retention

Fall to Fall Retention

The Retention measure is the IPEDS Retention, the percentage of first-time degree/certificate-seeking students from the previous Fall who either re-enrolled or successfully completed their program by the current Fall. This measure was selected because it parallels the strategic plan and operational plan, which set goals for retention and graduation for the institution.

2. Graduation Rate

The Graduation Rate is the IPEDS Graduation Rate which is the total number of individuals from a given cohort of full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates who completed a degree or certificate within a given percent of normal time to complete all requirements of the degree or certificate program; divided by the total number of students in the cohort of full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates minus any allowable exclusions. This measure was selected because it parallels the strategic plan and operational plan which set goals for retention and graduation for the institution. IPEDS Graduation Rate is also consistent with the colleges occupational programs which represent the majority of student enrollment.
