Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College recently celebrated its Spring 2026 Phi Theta Kappa induction ceremony, recognizing a new group of students for their academic achievement, leadership potential, and commitment to excellence. Family, friends, faculty, and staff gathered to honor the inductees and celebrate their accomplishments.
Founded in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recognizes and encourages the academic success of students at two-year colleges while providing opportunities for leadership, service, and personal growth. Today, Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education, with more than 2 million members worldwide.

The college also welcomed Mr. Antonio Hearn, NLTCC Associate Vice Chancellor of Strategic Enrollment Management, as guest speaker for the ceremony. Hearn shared words of encouragement with students as they continue their academic and professional journeys.
The college also extends appreciation to Phi Theta Kappa advisors, Ms. Mechelle Harris and Mrs. Debbie Washington, for their continued support of NLTCC students.
Through organizations like Phi Theta Kappa, NLTCC continues to encourage academic excellence while creating opportunities for leadership, involvement, and personal growth both inside and outside the classroom.
