When Kevani Dijour Green walked across the graduation stage on May 19th, 2026, he wasn’t just earning a college degree. He was celebrating years of hard work, perseverance, and personal growth that helped shape the person he is today.
Green graduated from Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Business Office Technology with a concentration in Internet Business Specialist. During his time at NLTCC, he balanced classes while also working on campus through ABM, the college’s contracted cleaning services company. Between work responsibilities, coursework, and personal challenges, giving up could have been easy. Instead, Green continued pushing forward.
That determination showed both inside and outside the classroom. Green maintained a 3.29 GPA during his time at NLTCC and earned membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He also became the first among his siblings, and the youngest, to graduate college.

“I chose NLTCC because online classes worked better for me,” said Green. “Sometimes I do better learning in a quiet place by myself where I can focus. I wanted to learn business and computer skills and prove to myself that I could finish college even when people doubted me.”
As a student on the autism spectrum, Green faced many personal challenges throughout his educational journey. Still, those closest to him say one thing has always stood out most about Green: he never quits.
His perseverance has also had a lasting impact on his family. Watching Green pursue his education motivated both his older brother and sister to begin working toward college degrees of their own, and they are expected to graduate soon as well. What started as one student’s journey has grown into encouragement for an entire family.
“College helped me grow more confident in myself,” said Green. “Growing up, people labeled me because of my autism and learning challenges, but now I know I can succeed too. Graduating college means a lot to me because I worked hard and did not give up. I hope my story can encourage other people who feel different or misunderstood.”
Outside of school and work, Green faithfully serves as an usher at his church, something those around him say reflects his character, discipline, and heart for service. His experiences and personal growth are also reflected in a piece he wrote titled “More Than a Label,” a personal reflection on identity, perseverance, and overcoming the limitations others may place on you.
