MANSFIELD, LA – Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) is pleased to share an update on the nursing wing currently under construction at its Mansfield campus. Following the official groundbreaking in February 2025, work on the new facility is well underway and progressing steadily. The project is on track to be completed by March 2026.
This new nursing wing is a key part of NLTCC’s commitment to strengthening the region’s healthcare workforce. Once completed, the facility will provide expanded classroom and lab space designed specifically to support hands-on nursing education and clinical training.
“The new nursing wing at the Mansfield campus is a big win — not only for DeSoto Parish, but for all of northwest Louisiana. It’s going to give our students the space, tools, and hands-on training they need to step straight into high-demand healthcare jobs right here in our area. I’m proud to have been part of the effort to obtain the funding to bring this project to life, and I can’t wait to see the difference it will make for our local workforce and the impact on our community,” said Rep. Larry Bagley, who was instrumental in securing the necessary funding and guiding the project through the legislative process in Baton Rouge.
NLTCC would like to thank Rep. Larry Bagley, along with the support of fellow legislators, local healthcare advocates, and community partners who share a commitment to improving access to quality nursing education in the region.
“We’re excited to see our vision becoming reality,” said Dr. Jayda Spillers, Chancellor of NLTCC. “This new nursing wing is an investment in our students and in the long-term healthcare needs of the surrounding communities.”
NLTCC will share more updates as the project nears completion.
