NLTCC Expands Training Equipment in Diesel and Automotive Programs

Diesel Student and teacher

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College has added new training equipment to its Diesel Powered Equipment Technology and Automotive Technology programs to further strengthen hands on learning opportunities for students.

The Diesel Powered Equipment Technology program recently introduced an air conditioner trainer and a planetary gear set trainer. The air conditioner trainer allows students to diagnose and service HVAC systems commonly found in heavy equipment and diesel powered machinery. The planetary gear set trainer gives students the opportunity to study and disassemble complex gear systems that are widely used in transmissions and heavy duty applications. These additions provide students with practical experience in the systems they will encounter in the field.

In the Automotive Technology program, students now have access to a Snap-on multimeter trainer. This equipment enhances instruction in electrical diagnostics, helping students build confidence in testing circuits, troubleshooting components, and interpreting real world data.
