NLTCC Hosts Health and Resource Fair for Students and Community

Nursing Students

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College recently hosted a Health and Resource Fair at its Minden campus, where students had the opportunity to connect with community partners and learn about the valuable resources and services available to them.

The event, organized by NLTCC counselor Debbie Washington, was open to the public and welcomed both students and community members. A variety of local organizations were on-site to share information, answer questions, and provide services.

NLTCC Practical Nursing students also took part by offering blood pressure checks, giving them the opportunity to engage with the community while applying their training in a real-world setting. NLTCC hosts Health and Resource Fairs twice a year at its Minden and Shreveport campuses, creating consistent opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience while connecting with the community.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our community partners for their participation in the Health and Resource Fair,” said Debbie Washington. “Their presence helped make the event a success, and we truly appreciate their support, generosity, and commitment to serving our students and the local community. The resources and information they provided made a meaningful impact.”

Washington also gave special recognition to Healthy Blue and Mr. RaShad Bristo, Community Relations Representative III in Marketing, for partnering with NLTCC as a sponsor of the event and noted that the college values its continued partnerships and looks forward to working together in the future.
