Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College recently completed its EMPWR Electrical workforce training program at the Minden campus, providing participants with hands-on training and industry-recognized credentials designed to prepare them for careers in the electrical field.
This short-term training program provided students with foundational knowledge and practical experience in electrical systems while also emphasizing the professional skills needed to succeed in the workforce.
Throughout the program, students received instruction in electrical safety, OSHA awareness, tool identification and usage, basic circuitry, wire pulling, blueprint reading, conduit bending, and other essential electrical skills. Participants also developed workplace skills including teamwork, communication, professionalism, and workplace readiness.
Students who successfully completed the program earned multiple industry-recognized credentials and had the opportunity to connect with employers as they prepared to enter the workforce.
“Programs like EMPWR Electrical allow NLTCC to respond directly to workforce needs by giving students practical, hands-on training that can lead to meaningful career opportunities,” said Dr. Jayda Spillers, Chancellor of NLTCC. “We are proud of what these students accomplished and look forward to seeing them put the skills and credentials they earned to work.”
