Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC), in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Sumitomo Electric Lightwave, will host a free, two-day Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing Workshop on November 18–19, 2026, at its Shreveport Campus.
The workshop will provide participants with hands-on training in fiber optic technology and fusion splicing techniques using industry equipment. Participants will have the opportunity to earn a completion certificate and connect with hiring managers and industry professionals to explore career opportunities in the growing fiber optics field.
The workshop is open to adults ages 18 and older, with no prior experience required. Training will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 18, with a networking reception and certificate ceremony concluding the event on November 19. Breakfast and lunch will be provided both days.
